🧑🌾 Meet Russ the Storyteller
Hello there little ones. I’m Russ the Storyteller, and this is my favorite place to share stories—right here on the old bench swing on my cottage’s back porch. From here, I can see the whole backyard, but most importantly, I can see Whisper the Story Keeper.
She’s a Great Oak—tall and wise, with bark like braided rope and a hollow about ten feet up her trunk. The squirrels leave notes there, and sometimes the wind tucks away its secrets. Her branches stretch wide like arms that remember every tale ever told beneath them. I believe God planted her here to remind us that stories—like roots—grow deeper when they’re shared in love.
This isn’t just any backyard. It’s a patchwork of wonder stitched together by grace and time. There’s a pond where frogs sing lullabies at dusk, a stream that giggles over smooth stones, and a marsh where dragonflies dance like sparks of light. The meadow hums with bees and blooms, and the surrounding woods whisper stories of old—if you’re quiet enough to hear them.
I come here to remember. To imagine. To honor the ones I love. Every story I tell is rooted in someone dear to me, and every tale is a seed of hope, comfort, or courage—planted just for you. This backyard isn’t just mine—it’s yours too. A place where kindness grows, faith takes root, and imagination runs wild.
God’s Word is the soil beneath every story here. Whether we’re learning about courage, forgiveness, or belonging, we always begin with Scripture—because His truth is timeless, and His love is everlasting. As Psalm 78:4 says, “We will not hide them from their children, but tell to the coming generation the glorious deeds of the Lord.”
