🌱 Our Mission
My-Backyard.org was born from a simple truth: stories can heal—and God’s love makes that healing eternal. We create radiant, story-driven projects that bring comfort, imagination, and hope to families and children, guided by Christian values and the timeless wisdom of Scripture.
Through My Backyard—a children’s story series rooted in the teachings of Christ and the parables He shared—we offer free stories, printable activities, and heartfelt tributes that support children’s charities like Ronald McDonald House, CHOP, Nemours, and the American Cancer Society.
Every page we design is a seed of light. Whether it’s a tale of kindness, a coloring page shared between parent and child, or a glowing tribute to someone dearly missed, our mission is to help love grow and faith take root.

Why We Do This
This mission is personal. When my niece Dakota was very little, she contracted RSV from another child in daycare. She was so small, and she fought so hard just to breathe. There were countless times she would sit on my lap, taking her breathing nebulizer, while I read story after story to her—each one a lifeline of comfort and calm.
Dakota is grown and healthy now, but I’ll never forget that tiny little girl struggling to take a breath—her ribs visible with every inhale. The peace those stories gave her in her hardest moments was priceless, and I believe God was present in every word, every breath, every page.
That’s why we do this. If we can give even one child a little joy, a moment of escape, or a breath of comfort through a story… it’s worth it. My Backyard is more than a story series. It’s a tribute to Dakota, to her father Danny (who left us way too soon), and to every child who needs a little light in the dark.
